Investigating the technologies for multiplatform radio broadcasting

Headphones:  headphones are where the producers and presenters listen to each other’s conversations from.

Microphones: microphones are where the producers and presenters communicate from and talk to each other.

Play out: play out is where the producers use a computer automation system where they broadcast different radio shows without even being in the studio.

Computer: a computer is where all the information is on and where they upload all their radio posts on social media.

Workstation: a workstation is where all the equipment’s are kept.

CD player: a CD player is where all the electronic devices play different audios; these are in the digital optical disk data storage format. CD players are also where all the recordings of audios and materials are kept.

Control pad: control pads are where the producers check the sounds for the radio shows, for example when the presenters are talking the producers or the people working behind the scene can put the volume up or down.

Mini disc:  A mini disc is a magneto-optical disc-based audio that stores and plays devices that are released under the Sony brand name. A mini disc is similar to a floppy disk, except the difference is that it can hold almost 100 times more data than ordinary floppy disks.

Playlist: a playlist is where there a set of series videos that play it in the     order you wish it to play. Before a playlist starts there is something called a pre-roll video where there are different videos played before the actual video such as advertisements. A playlist displays a series of informational videos and funny videos so that I entertain the audience. A playlist can also be a list of recorded titles on a digital video disk. A playlist is also a list of chapters in movie serials. Another definition of playlist is a list of videos or audio files that can be played back on a media player either sequentially or in a shuffled order. Many audio playback software applications and electronic devices feature a playlist. People can add songs to a playlist and then play all the songs they wish in order or in random order depending on what they wish.

Cartwall: a cartwall is an easy jingle player that offers multiple pages of audio buttons ready for playbacks. A cartwall is also a machine that is used to broadcast different stations. The word cart from Cartwall means that it is synchronised in real time over the network from any location possible for example: preload from the slots, enable or disable remote control to play or countdown view synchronized.

Play-out:  A play out is a term for the transmission of radio or TV channels from the broadcast into broadcast networks that delivers the content to the audience. It also a type of computer system that is used to record, store and play all the audio content that will be used on your radio station. This makes it a lot easier for presenters as they do not need to look through record libraries for the tracks they need and therefore it will save a lot of their time.
